UNIFIED ELEMENTARY DAY
On Saturday, May 2, 2008, 250 elementary school students participated in the Unified Elementary Day sports event, which was hosted at the Conard High School McKee Stadium.
Members of the Boys lacrosse, baseball and volleyball teams volunteered to help run the event. Steve Garneau, Physical Education teacher at Sedgwick Middle School (also the Middle School Unified Coach as well as a Conard High School coach for football and lacrosse) was the chief organizer of this event.
West Hartford Public Schools provided the largest contingent of participants. Whiting Lane Elementary School is coached by Judy Wilcox, and Norfeldt Elementary School is coached by the team of Kathy Sweetland and Celeste Higgins. The event was sponsored by the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference.
