Electronics Recycling
State law will prohibit electronics being disposed in the waste stream after 2010. West Hartford has taken the lead establishing recycling procedures for electronics. Collections are held three times a year during the months of May, July and November at the Public Works Facility on Brixton Street, and used electronics are collected at school sites and brought to Public Works for pickup. The collection includes: computers, monitors, printers, TVs, VCRs, copiers, fax machines, radios, stereos, compact fluorescent light bulbs cell phones, and rechargable NiCad batteries (regular non-rechargable batteries do not need to be recycled). .
