It is essential for the community to understand the importance of preschool and its benefits for later learning.

 

The communities benefit when all children are safe, secure, and healthy.

 

Early opportunities for children are less costly then remediation.

 


Objectives

  1. All members of the West Hartford community will understand the need for and value of early childhood education.
     
  2. All West Hartford families will have knowledge of and access to resources that support the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of young children.
     
  3. All West Hartford families will be aware of, and have access to, a range of affordable , high quality preschool education.
     
  4. All children will enter kindergarten ready to learn, succeed, and thrive in school.

Strategies

 

Awareness

We will increase the community awareness of the value of high quality preschool experiences.

Resource Development

We will work collaboratively to increase the availability, accessibility, quality, and affordability of preschool education and resources.

Outreach

We will engage families in accessing resources for young children.
