PTO News

With spring comes proms and unfortunately the reminder that teens, especially when they are together, don't always make the best decisions.

In a continuing effort to raise their awareness to the high stakes of inexperience and risky behaviors the Hall High School PTO and the West Hartford Community of Concern have invited the mothers from !MPACT back to Hall on May 30. Their presentation is planned for grades 10 - 12.

Although their presentation is not graphic in nature it is disturbing in its sadness. If you are concerned about their message we encourage you to consult the !MPACT website:

Attention Senior Parents of Hall High 2008 Graduates

We’re Two Months Away!

We’re two months away from graduation! This is a reminder that the class of 2008 is invited to a special party on graduation night June 19, 2008, from 10 pm to 5 am. The party is put on by the parents of Hall High seniors and provides a chaperoned, substance free celebration for all students. This party cannot happen without your help. The majority of the funding for the party comes from you, the parents of the graduates. The cost of putting on this seven hour party (food, entertainment, prizes, etc.) comes out to $75.00 per student; however no student will be turned away for the inability to pay. If you have not already donated please take a moment to consider how much you can give. As of today only about 50% of senior parents have responded. Please send your donations to:
Hall High School Graduation Party 2008
Hall High School
975 North Main Street
West Hartford, CT 06117

We also will be selling plants and special yardsigns as fundraisers. For details contact:
Fay deHaas: faydehaas@comcast.net or Karen Pierson: karenmpierson@sbcglobal.net

And if you are interested in volunteering to help us Decorate, Fundraise, etc…please attend a meeting on Wednesday April 23rd at 7pm in the Hall High cafeteria. To volunteer for the night of the party contact either Holly Eamiello: leamiello@comcast.net or Cindy Callis: cynthia.callis@crump.com

A Great Thank You Gift for
Your Child’s Teacher

Searching for just the right gift for your child’s teacher at the end of the school year? The Foundation for West Hartford Public Schools’ Teacher Thank You Gift program is a great way to acknowledge a wonderful and talented teacher.
Here’s how it works: A family makes a tax-deductible donation to the Foundation of $10 or more per teacher. The Foundation then sends the family/or the teacher a special certificate that says a gift has been made in the teacher’s honor. The funds raised from these Teacher Thank You Gifts go to our Teacher Grant program. Every donation will go back to helping teachers teach our students!
The Foundation is dedicated to raising money from the community to give back to the public schools. We are non-political and town-wide. For more information on the Foundation, call 561-8755, email fwhps@westhartford.org, or write to 50 South Main Street, #420, West Hartford, CT 06107.
