This is a foundation course where basic drafting/design skills and concepts are taught and then applied using PC computers and Computer Aided Drafting/Design software. Previous computer knowledge is not a prerequisite. Students will understand and practice the principles involved in translating thoughts and ideas to a format where they can be graphically communicated with others. First semester skills will be developed in the areas of sketching, dimensioning, multi view and pictorial drawings. Second semester skills consist of web page design using HTML and Dreamweaver MX and computer animation using Macromedia Flash MX. Minds-on hands-on experiences are the focus of the course.
