Research and Development in Technology

This course is a capstone of experiences in Technology Education.

R&D in Technology engages students in activities such as organization, problem solving, technical reading and research, scenario writing, conducting surveys, and future forecasting, all of which will add another dimension to existing curricula. Discussion and debate among students encourage critical self-evaluation and promote more complex reasoning ability and increased perspective of other abilities. Depending on modules selected and the course structure in which they are used, activities vary on a year to year basis and are student driven.

Topics might include: Human powered transportation, robotics, ethical use of technology, biotechnology, Rube Goldberg inventions, civic needs as it relates to youth, improving or developing a technology - system - or device.
