English for the Speakers of Other Languages

Welcome to Hall High School's ESOL classes. E.S.O.L, is an acronym for English for Speakers of other Languages. English proficiency is determined when a student who is new to the United States first registers at the school. The comprehensive English test measures four skills-listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students are the placed in an Esol class. There are four levels - ranging from 1-2 to 7-8. In addition there are sheltered classes in American History, American Government, and English literature.
