The Magnet Essay |
|
Here is one of the coolest things in science. It is the magnet, with a magnet you can stick to almost anything that is metal. For example, a paper clip has waves inside it that are the same in the magnet. So when you stick it, it would get attracted.
First of all you got to know the certain kinds of magnets. There are 5 different kinds of them; they are the fridge magnets, horseshoe magnet, circle magnet, and north- south, and the last one is the pressed magnet. I will be explaining some of these magnets. The first one is the fridge magnet. In our experiment with this one, it was the weakest magnet. It was the weakest because it is the thinnest and it could be of the weight inside it. The next one is the pressed magnet, and the pressed magnet is the strongest, because it has hard iron in it and it could be because it was the heaviest magnet. The last magnet I will talk about is the horseshoe magnet. The horseshoe magnet was one of the strong magnets it can be attracted almost too any piece of iron or metal. Later I will be talking about what it can be attracted to and what it won’t.
Now I will talk about what it can be attracted to and what it can’t be attracted. I will give you 6 examples. The 3 that can be attracted are the paperclip, metal table with iron in it, and the head of hammer. Things that it can’t attract are the cloth, plastic, and a piece of wood.
Now I will talk about what are in magnets. Inside magnets there are waves that are going in opposite directions. And when you put the magnets in the same directions, it sticks. But if you put a north-to-north magnet together it won’t get attracted, it would push back, and similar with the south-to-south magnet it would not stick.
From all the things you have learned about are pretty neat. I think you have lots of questions. Like, are waves in all magnets? So the next time you use a magnet, try to make it stick to something. That is the cool metal magnet.
