The colonies were being ruled by the kings and queens of
England. Even though most of the colonists were from England, doesn't
mean all of them were. Other countries that the colonists came from are,
Scotland, Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Sweden, and a few
other countries came over. Some people came to America with out the
choice of coming or not. They were slaves from Africa. They were first
brought to America in 1619. A while afterward there slaves in all of the
13 colonies. But most of the slaves lived in the Southern colonies. The
colonies also let everyone practice whatever religion they want. The
different religions were: Puritans, Quakers, Jews, Catholics, Lutherans,
and Presbyterians. But when more people came, the populations of the
colonies kept getting higher, and higher. But the colonies that people
came to first, (Massachusetts, and Virginia), had the most. |
