| Why did the English come to America? Most of the Colonists got sick. Others died before they had lived in America for even a year! So why did the English even bother to come? Because in England the English were not treated fairly. If you were the youngest son, you wouldn't inherit any land from your parents. You also couldn't practice your own religion. You would be forced to practice the religion one religion and that religion only. No exceptions. And, some other Europeans came for the adventure of a new land.
