Two of the reasons are because of the rules in England
like the oldest brother or religion. In European countries, they
preferred the oldest son. Lets just say, the parents have 3 sons. They
are each a year or more apart. The oldest son gets a lot or all of the
land when the 2 younger sons get little or none. The younger sons will
probably move to America to get land. The religious part is that in some
countries, they make you believe in a religion and if you don't really
believe in it, you could move to America to believe in your own
religion. |
