They lived in wooden cabins next to their own farms. Some richer
families lived on larger farms called plantations. Since they lived on
farms and plantations, they grew their own food. On their farms, they
would also raise pigs, chickens, and cows. Some people owned shops and
other people bought things from the store. Women would make clothes for
themselves and for their family. Rich families would either make their
own family or buy clothes from Europe since they could afford it. When
kids wanted to have fun, they would play similar games we have today
like baseball and soccer. Adults would have fun by watching horse races
and watching traveling circuses. |
