There are many different types of magnets fridge magnets, permanent magnets, circle magnets, horse magnets and bar magnets. I am going to tell you about ways humans use magnets how they are made and things magnets won’t attract to.

There are many different kinds of magnets. But did you know magnets where not made by humans. Thousands of years ago the Chinese found a rock that was naturally magnetic called magnate. So when they were digging it would stick to their shovels because of a magnetic field. A magnetic field is a field of magnetic pulls within range of this field anything with iron in it will stick to the magnet.

Some ways people use magnets today are to save animals lives like a cow. For example people use a special type of magnet called a cow magnet to save a cows life. People also use magnets to play games.

Magnets attract to different items but not all items. Some items they may not attract to because it might be a south pole to south Pole or a north pole to north pole. It won’t stick because it is the same pole is facing the same pole. Some items still won’t stick because it doesn’t have any iron.

So next time you use a magnet remember the Chinese found it while digging.
