Whiting Lane PTO Silent Auction Winners!
In the fall of 2008, Whiting Lane families
and teachers offered out prizes for a silent auction. The
gathering was a success! Auction winners got to delight in hot
chocolate and donuts before school, a professional chef cook dinner for
your family and friends and even nature walks! Some of those
events were photographed. Click on the pictures to see large versions of
the action winners!
The winners of this year’s Pancake Breakfast, a PTO Auction item, were Elenore, Johnny, James, Joseph, Lucia, Erin and Ryan. This event was held in the library on Wednesday morning, November 5, 2008 and hosted by Mrs. Thomas, Mr. Sturm and Mrs. Gluck.
Students began with a rousing on-line game on the computer where they mixed the ingredients for pancake batter and then flipped them on a griddle! They then moved to a maze to help the Pig get the Pancakes!
While eating pancakes, students were treated to two stories. Mr. Sturm read If you Give a Pig a Pancake by Lisa Numeroff and Mrs. Thomas read Mama Panya’s Pancakes: a village tale from Kenya by Mary and Richard Chamberlin.
After our breakfast and stories, we sang some pancake songs LOUDLY to let everyone know how much we LOVE pancakes!
Mrs. Thomas, Mr. Sturm and Mrs. Gluck can not wait until next year to find out who will be coming to their PANCAKE BREAKFAST!
