Introduction

Millions of penguins, wearing black and white live in the Southern Hemisphere. From Antarctica to the equator, penguin homes can be found.  There are a few types of penguins. We will focus on  four types of penguins, the Crested, the Emperor, the Chinstrap and the Adelie. What do you already know about penguins? What interesting  facts can you find out about  penguins?

The Task

Mystic Aquarium has hired your team to build a new penguin exhibit at the aquarium.  You need to find out which type of penguin would be fun to have in an exhibit. Each team will have to find out about one type of penguin. The Aquarium Director, Ms. Burkey will divide you up into groups and assign a penguin to your team. You need to find out the following information:

1.    Where does your penguin live in the wild?

2.    What type of food does your penguin eat?

3.    What does your penguin look like?

4.    How tall is your penguin?

5.    What would you need for an exhibit for a penguin?

6.    Do you think your penguin would enjoy being at the aquarium? Why or Why not

At the end of the assignment you will have a short report about the type of penguin you researched.
