Kindergarten Snack

Please send your child with a snack each day.
Here are some important snack notes:
Please send a healthy
snack with your child each day. Examples of healthy
snacks could be: fruit, vegetables, yogurt, pretzels, rice
cakes, popcorn, crackers, etc. Children should not bring candy
or junk food.
Snacks must be nut and peanut butter free!
Snack should be separate from lunch or lunch money.
It is a good idea to show your child what and where their snack is
when you put it in the backpack. Labeling it with their name
is helpful too.
Please do not send in drinks. We will use the
water fountain several times each day.

School Birthday Recognition

A few minutes of class time is usually taken to recognize each
student's birthday. In order to adhere to the Health
Curriculum in teaching children healthy eating habits, as well as
numerous students with food allergies, we will be celebrating with
treats other than sweets. Your child's teacher will discuss
how his/her class will recognize a student's birthday. Some of
the treats may include:
A non-food treat (i.e., stickers, pencils);
Helper for the day;
Leader of a game;
Extra recess time;
Homework pass;
Taking home a class birthday bag;
Line leader with crown;
Dancing to music.

Clothing

Outdoor clothing should be labeled clearly with your child's name
and should be simple enough for your child to get into easily.
Please put your child's name on lunch boxes, raincoats, and back
packs. It is your child's reassurance and our certainty.
Boots should be large enough for your child to put on without
help.
A set of extra clothing labeled and placed in a plastic bag will
be needed for any accidents, wet pants from playing in the snow or
spilt milk, etc. As the seasons change, please update these
clothes, [i.e. shorts changed to pants in the winter.] |
