Smith School’s English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program currently serves approximately 80 students. These students are in the process of acquiring English as their second language. Smith School is proud to accommodate children from many different cultures and countries. Many of our students are first-generation Americans. Among the more than twenty languages spoken by our ESOL families the most prevalent are Spanish, Vietnamese, and Nepali.

Each year our school welcomes new arrivals to the United States. Often these students come to us shortly after arriving from their native countries. It is wonderful and exciting to watch these children learn to speak English and adapt to life in America. We value the opportunity to serve a diverse population that in turn enriches our understanding of cultures from around the world. Welcome to Smith School!
