Cat & Wolf

by COLE

“Welcome, please come in!” said Wolf to Cat. Wolf lived in a house by a lake. “I have dinner prepared for you….Let’s dig in!”

“Great, I’m starving!” said Cat.

“Oh no!” shrieked Wolf, “I forgot the water for my delicious feast.”

“I thought it was our delicious feast?” wondered Cat.

”Oh it is!” said Wolf nervously. Off went Cat to fetch some water from the lake.

Suddenly Cat realized that Wolf was following her.

“What are you doing?!” asked Cat.

“Picking up my dinner!” Wolf snarled, drooling and licking his lips. Cat started to run, but just as she got to the lake Wolf howled and pushed Cat into the water. Wolf went too far and fell into the lake himself!

Cat pounced out, followed by Wolf. Cat scratched Wolf, who, caught by surprise, fell back into the lake (howling again). Cat had an idea. When she thought she was at a safe distance from Wolf, she dug a deep hole and covered it with leaves. Cat climbed up a tree and waited. Wolf had popped out of the lake and started running after Cat again, but sure enough he fell into Cat’s trap.

“I’ll get you for this!” howled Wolf from the bottom of the hole. From that day on Cat refused to eat dinner with wolves.
