Photo and Images in Front Page
Please review
copyright laws! Just because you can google,
altavista, msn or other images does not mean
that you can take these images to use on your web
pages.
Some places that
allow educational use include
Microsoft Clip Art Gallery,
FreeFoto,
Free Images,
Awesome Clip Art,
CoolClips and place such as
The Smithsonian but be sure to read the fine
print! It is always better to use your own photos. |
|
First, be sure you have saved
your photo or image in your website file!
Go to "Insert" > "Picture" >
"From File". Browse for your picture and click on
it. |
If
the picture is HUGE, right click on it and choose
"auto thumbnail". When
you publish you need to publish both the page and
the pictures! |
|
Ideally you should use imaging
software such as
PhotoShop.
These options allow you to reduce the
size of your photos to increase the speed that your
page loads. We've all been to those sites that take
f o r e v e r to load.
The image to
the right is 150 x 223 pixels. |
Two important options are: Image -->image size

and File -->
"Save for Web"
 |
|
Alternatively you
can use the auto thumbnail feature by right clicking
a photo when you insert it (Insert --> Picture -->
From File or Clipart. |
