Lynn Cherry" letter yourself. Here is one way to fix it

It is about time for you to have finished reading your first
independent
selection. When you have finished, all students must
complete
book
report #1. After that, you may "roam about the
country," and
choose any other
book
project, # 1-43. Save all of these projects to your
home computer. Please do not report on a book until you
have finished. If
you are still reading, then keep on reading.
Students who receive a check minus (50%) on any paper must
correct it up to
a check (75%) within a week.
Period 6: One side of a page: "What Mr. Hine should know about
me." Organize
your information into several paragraphs.

of vocabulary Unit 1 (pp. 21-27) in pencil. Give 5 minutes to

page # 21, 22 and 23 in order to learn the words before
proceeding
into the unit.
Bring your book to
class tomorrow. The book only
comes to
school one day every two weeks, and tomorrow is
that day!

of the paragraph after following these directions
to revise your 1st draft. (I am collecting both
drafts tomorrow.)
1. Label the A, S and C within your paragraph.
2. Be sure your support is not just a comparison of
possessions. Identify
the "way of life" comparisons you wrote by labeling
them with the
word "culture" in the margins. (There should be 2-3
of these, and
if you can't find them, then you need to add them.)
3. Make general proofreading corrections (grammar,
spelling) and copy
the paragraph over. (The 2nd draft should be clean,
not marked up
or have any labels.)

complete the plot outline that follows (last page).
Be prepared to hand in
the staple packet on Monday. We will write a
summary next week.
Continue to read independently to build grade credit.
Everyone will do
book report #1,
but after you pass that one in, you may select from the
other 42 for each succeeding
project (book reports #2-43).
