English: Standard: Rifka study guide pp. 16-32 with "I Wonder"
             Honors: Tom Chapter 1 with marble journal entry: Mark Twain reveals his
                        attitude toward boys through Aunt Polly. Compare and contrast
                        Twain's attitude toward boys with your own in three paragraphs
                        (each paragraph exploring a different aspect). Journals collected
                        Monday.

English: Standard: Carefully read pp. 1-15 in Letters From Rifka. Complete Study
         Guide, pp. 1-15
comprehension activity: At the bottom of each odd-
              numbered page, stop and write a quiz question on the prior two pages which
              the teacher can use to test comprehension. Answer the question yourself!
           Honors: Write a three-paragraph response in your new marble journal: What
              does the expression, "Boys will be boys," mean to you? First paragraph is
              the introduction and one example, second paragraph is a longer example,
              and third paragraph is an example with the conclusion.

English: Weekly sight word and spelling quiz. Noun quiz on common/proper and
                 plural formation. Read " The Marathon" and answer the six multiple
                 choice questions. Try to read this selection more carefully than we read
                 the last one. Write a Level 1, 2 and 3 question on the back of the paper.

          Honors: Create a computer generated ordered value bar graph for
                          Investigation 1.4B and class shoe sizes (2 separate graphs)

                      quiz! Study spellings and meanings with a partner.

English: 1.)Two copies of draft 4 of your nonfiction personal narrative. Return to
                  the computer where it is saved. Cross off each red pen correction in
                 
pencil as you correct it. Make the change on your computer. Print two
                  copies (three if you got "LM" in the upper right corner). Staple one
                  copy to the process.  Keep one copy loose.
             2.) Grammar: sheets 26, 28, 43

Math: Standard: pg. 84 #1-14 (When asked to draw or measure and angle, draw a
                          sketch or estimate its measure. No protractors are needed!
          Honors: Study for Test (Use Study Guide)

Social Studies: The second part of the Social Studies test will take place in the
                           first half of tomorrow's class. If you haven't already, prepare
                           yourself to construct a population pyramid and answer questions
                           about it.
