short story, "My Summer Vacation... Not!" The first draft is
normally done in handwriting. Make sure that something is moving
in the first sentence. Follow your plot outline through
exposition, approximately three elements of rising action
(conflict, suspense, complications), climax (the part where the
reader finds out whether you succeed or fail), and resolution.
You need some closure, such as "There's a lesson in this for all
of us..."
