TO UNDERSTAND WHEN YOU ARE READING, TRY THESE STRATEGIES:
VISUALIZE - Create pictures in your mind as you read.
MAKE A PREDICTION - about what the reading will be about next; then
continue reading to see if your prediction was correct.
MAKE A CONNECTION - between what you are reading and what you
already know.
ASK A QUESTION - about what you are reading and try to answer it
from the reading.
