The French curriculum is based on a communicative approach to foreign language learning. The emphasis is on developing speaking and listening skills, adding reading and writing as students develop the necessary skills.

Classes are conducted almost entirely in French, relying on gesture, repetition, and visual aids for comprehension and communication.

French culture is integrated at all levels. Students will become familiar with French speaking countries around the world through the study of art, music, history, cuisine, literature, and customs.

The ultimate goal for the K-5 French experience is for each child to be able to converse with ease, read and comprehend and or write short stories or dialogue in French.

The French program provides an exciting and challenging experience for Norfeldt students.
