Circulation
Circulation is computerized and every student is automatically registered as a library user. Our policy allows each student to check out books, magazines and audio cassettes. Kindergarten and first graders may take out one book at a time. Other students may take 2 books at a time and more if necessary for research or other special class projects.
Books are checked out for two weeks and may be renewed by bringing the book in to check it out again.
Classes
All classes visit the media center for one hour (1/2 hour in the library and 1/2 hour in the computer lab). If additional time is needed teachers may also sign up for "extra" time.
Overdue Materials
Overdue notices are printed each week and sent home on Tuesdays. Overdue fines are not charged; however, the student is required to pay for lost or damaged materials. The charge is $15.00/book. The parent will be refunded if the lost book is returned in good condition.
The Staff
The media center is staffed by Barbara Billings, media specialist and Marguerite Tracy, para-professional.
Volunteers also assist the library staff by performing a variety of tasks which enhance the library program. We are always in need of more volunteers so if you have any time please call Heidi Cotter. chairperson of the volunteers.
The library staff looks forward to instructing and assisting your child this year. We want you and your child to consider our facility not only as a service center, but also as a location for learning, enjoyment, and enrichment. As partners with the home, we want to help make your child's year both pleasant and productive.
