GRADE 5 TO 6 TRANSITION INFORMATION |
|
February 2008
Dear Fifth Grade Parent/Guardian:
The staff and I are excited about welcoming you and your child to King Philip Middle School. As part of our 5th to 6th grade transition process, we have planned a series of helpful programs and activities to ensure that your child becomes comfortable with his/her new school. Below is a list of dates, names, information and programs to assist you and your child with the transition.
Parents and fifth graders are invited to tour King Philip and attend presentations about our school. (Flyers to be distributed by each elementary school.)
Question and answer session with PTO parents and KP administrators.
KP March Newsletter will be sent home with the fifth grade students to inform you of all “the happenings” at our school that you and your child can look forward to next year. The May 18th newsletter will be available on our website (whps.org).
Fifth Graders, hosted by the Guidance Department, learn about sixth grade at KP.
Edward D’Addio & Candace Brohinsky - Next year’s 6th grade counselors
Donna Nestler-Rusack – Assistant Principal
Karen Kukish –Interim Assistant Principal
I feel confident that both you and your child will benefit from the above programs and that, as a result, your child will be well prepared to enter King Philip next fall. I look forward to meeting both you and your child at one of these upcoming programs.
Sincerely,
Michael Renkawitz
Interim Principal
