Marek Chrostowski

Our beloved head custodian, Marek Chrostowski “Mr. C”, passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 30, 2009.

Marek was a part of our Morley family for the past eleven years. He was not just a valued staff member, but Morley’s life blood. He took care of our school and us, the faculty and the children. He zipped jackets, tied shoes, opened milk cartons, reached out to children who needed a mentor, a hug or a translator. Marek was fluent in four languages. He was also a champion ping pong player. In his native Poland , he was a “veterinarian”. Marek could fix most anything and he would come to your home to do that after school or on weekends.

He was a citizen of both the US and Poland and very active in the Polish community in the New Britain and surrounding areas. He assisted his fellow Poles to establish themselves in the US by helping them acquire Green cards and find employment. You could not find a more generous human being than Marek. He will be truly missed.

In memory of our friend, brother and colleague, the staff at Morley has established a college scholarship fund for his surviving children Marta (15) and Maciej (19). Donations may be made c/o The Morley PTO and dropped off in the office before the close of school on June 26.
