Hi, I'm Mrs. Palmer, and I am a second grade teacher in Room 16!   It is a privilege and a joy to be at Duffy School.  Every day is full of adventures as my students and I work, share and learn together. 

   My favorite units in second grade are the Japan unit in Social Studies, and the Balance and Motion unit in science.  There are so many favorite books I love to share.  My favorite read-aloud is Stories Julian Tells by Ann Cameron.  Did you know that I am a writer?  Our Writer's Workshop Share is my favorite time of the school day.  The writings that my students share amaze me every time!  Math lab is another exciting part of the day.  
     I am a gardener.  All spring, summer, and fall, you can find me weeding, pruning, and planting in my gardens.  I have two dogs, Willie and Jellybean, who like to steal my garden gloves!  My cat, buddy, likes to take a nap in whatever flower bed I have just finished planting!             

    On weekends you might find me walking the local Rails-to-Trails routes all over the Farmington Valley, or sitting on my porch or in front of the fireplace with a good book.

     I have traveled to many countries all over the world, but my favorite place in the whole wide world is Duffy!
