Vietnam Trip to Adopt Faith

The summer of 2008 I traveled to Vietnam to adopt my daughter Faith. I started the adoption process in the beginning of 2007and my referral wait in Vietnam took a year. On June 9th, 2008 Faith Bao Chau Taylor became my daughter. Her recorded date of birth is December 29th, 2007.

The adoption process in Vietnam included a Giving & Receiving Ceremony in Ninh Binh, a Vietnamese passport application and a U.S. visa interview. Within 10 days we are on our way home. The trip was exciting, informative, stressful, hot, and magical. The following links take you to details of this amazing trip.

American Life

I have always loved children and wanted to be a mother all of my life. I became a school teacher so I could work with children and a few years ago decided to follow my dream and become a mom. Faith was brought to the Ninh Binh Orphanage on December 29, 2007. She will be close to 6 months old when I bring her home.  I have been busy working on our home, decorating her room and building a deck for us to enjoy in the back yard. My students and parents have been very supportive and made Faith an alphabet book. I will be updating this site to share the adventure with students, colleagues, friends, and family.
