What's Happening in Room 25?

Billy Frog Has Been Stolen!

On November 19th three students, along with Mr. Lewis, Mrs. Carter, and Miss Tracey, planted Billy Frog into a GeoCache Box at the West Hartford Reservoir. Using our newly learned GPS skills we found the GeoCache box and planted Billy inside. Billy's ultimate goal was to reach Mr. Lewis' high school in Parsippany New Jersey. On August 5th Billy was stolen when the cache he was placed in was raided. We are all hoping that Billy will resurface!  You can track Billy Frog and keep up to date on his whereabouts by clicking here and typing in the Code: WA2DYZ. We are all hoping that Billy will reappear safe and sound!

Nature's Classroom!

As we start October we were able to spend three glorious days in Colebrook, CT at Camp Jewel for Nature's Classroom. The students and teachers all survived and had a phenomenal time! Taking classes that ranged from Shark Dissection to making Bouncy Balls, the students were engaged and surrounded by science and nature all week! From hiking to rock climbing, the students had a blast! We are in the process of putting our expository writing skills to work and creating Nature's Classroom brochures. We're hoping to complete them within the next 2 weeks and put them up on our bulletin board outside our classroom for all to see. Come and check it out soon!

Thank You Parents!

Mrs. Ashworth, Mr. Lewis, and Ms. Cote would like to thank all the parents that helped load and unload the buses for Nature's Classroom. We would also like to congratulate you for having such superb students. We received so many compliments from the Nature's Classroom staff on the behavior of our students! It was a true reflection of their upbringing and a proud moment for not only the students but the teacher's as well. Thank you again for all your help, support, and preparation for an exciting trip!

Reactionary Science

We have started science and have begun looking at reaction time. By dropping a ruler and seeing how quickly we can catch it, we have been able to calculate our reaction times. We are learning how to create our own testable question and will soon be creating our own experiments based on reaction time!
