ANTI-PLAGIARISM WEBSITES

See your library media specialists to request a  mini-lesson for your students in the course of their library reasearch on "Plagiarism and How to Avoid It."

  • DiscoverySchool
    Classroom tools include: Lesson Planner, Worksheet Generator and many other teacher resources. Create your own materials or choose from hundreds created by other teachers, grouped by subject.

  • Educator's Reference Desk
    AskERIC's 2,000+ lesson plans, 3,000+ links to online education information, and 200+ question archive responses. The Educator's Reference Desk provides a search interface to the ERIC Database, providing access to over one million bibliographic records on educational research, theory, and practice.

  • The New York Times: Learning Network
    Access free daily lesson plans for grades 6-12, written in partnership with The Bank Street College of Education in New York City. Each lesson plan and the article it references can be printed out for classroom use. Previous lessons are available in the archive and in thematic lesson plan units.

  • Read-Write-Think
    Extensive collection of lesson plans & resources associated with events in literacy and literature, sponsored by the NCTE, the International Reading Assoc. & Marco Polo.

  • ThinkQuest: Student and educator developed educational websites 
    An international competition where student teams engage in collaborative, project-based learning to create educational websites. The winning entries form the ThinkQuest online library.

  • A to Z Teacher Stuff
    A commercial site, but created for teachers by a teacher, A to Z was designed to help teachers find online lesson plans and other resources more quickly and easily.

  • Connecticut History Online
    Online database featuring 15,000 historic images, a state-of-the-art Geolocator access tool and classroom resources such as lesson plans and interactive activities to help students and teachers access them.

  • Gateway to Educational Materials
    Access to high quality lesson plans, curriculum units and other education resources on the Internet.

  • Graphic Organizer Index
    Here is a great resource on a wide variety of graphic organizers, with descriptions of each and tips on when and how to use them. Samples are included, along with strategies and links.

  • Internet Hunt Activities
    Created by Cindy O'Hora, a collection of internet scavenger hunts on diverse topics.

  • Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators
    A high quality resource containing categorized lists of sites for enhancing curriculum and professional growth.

  • Marco Polo
    A nonprofit consortium of education organizations and the MCI Foundation providing the high quality Internet content and professional development to teachers and students. Includes lesson plans, student interactive content, downloadable worksheets & much more.

  • NetTrekker
    Fast, easy access to high quality, educationally relevant online resources, pre-screened and selected by educators.  Includes 18,000 lesson plans and learning excercises customized for high school curricula and linked to state standards.

  • Note Star 
    Allows teachers to create projects for their students. Students may then take advantage of NoteStar's many features to collect and organize their notes.

  • Rubistar
    Generic rubrics that can be adapted, customized or used as is.

  • Rubric Builder
    Excellet free program that provides teachers with a step-by-step, interactive process to create customized assessment rubrics.

  • Rubrics
    From the California Education Department, the SCORE program provides a collection of rubrics for research papers, editorials, collaborative projects and more.

  • Technology Turtorials Found on the Web
    Includes 100+ tutorials on software used in K-12 schools (e.g., Kidspiration, KidPix, DreamWeaver, Windows 2000), and tutorials on general technology topics (e.g. digital cameras, networking.)

  • Track Star
    Helps teachers organize and annotate Web sites for use in lessons.  The resource list remains visible, allowing the user to easily stay on track.

  • Web Worksheet Wizard
    Helps teachers create a lesson, worksheet or class page that can be posted on the Internet.

  • Worksheet Generator
    Create customized worksheets quickly, or use a teacher-created worksheet in a library of "Worksheets to Go."
