Grade 9 Checklist:
 
___ Read and review the school rules and regulations as listed in the student handbook, distributed at the beginning of the school year. Please read the attendance policy, especially as it relates to the loss of semester credits.
 
___ Highlight important dates on the school calendar. Pay particular attention to: the dates each quarter ends for report cards, progress report distribution dates at five week intervals and exam dates.

___ Encourage your son/daughter to attend the Freshmen Orientation Program in late August.

___ Check student's class schedule. Note the counselor's name and phone extension.

___Check that the main office has an accurate account of your mailing address, phone number(s), and emergency contact information.

___ Attend the orientation meeting for Freshmen parents.

___ Plan to attend the annual school Open House in the Fall.

___ Read, review, and discuss progress reports and report cards with your child.  Consult with your child's counselor and teachers on a regular basis.

___ Discuss selection of tenth grade courses with your student, reading course descriptions carefully and noting levels of difficulty. Sign and return the course selection form promptly.

___ Keep in contact with your child's counselor throughout the year.
