Winter Sports Awards Nights

There will not be a general sports awards assembly this year for the Athletic Department.  Each individual team will hold a sports awards night.  At the spring sports awards, all winter award winners will be recognized.

Individual Team Awards:

Cheerleading - Monday, March 15, 6 to 8 p.m. in Cafeteria
Gymnastics - Wednesday, March 24, 6 p.m. in Room 169
Boys Swimming - Wednesday, March 31, 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Room 169
Girls Ice Hockey - Tuesday, April 6, 6:30 in Cafeteria

On Sunday, May 3, 2009 at the Annual CIAC Scholar Athlete Awards Banquet,
Scholar Athletes Bryan Marsh and Sarah Steinle from Conard High School were honored. 
Each year Connecticut High Schools nominate one male and female student athlete for this award. 
Student athletes must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, strong leadership skills and excel in their sports.

Unified Elementary Day

Conard High School once again hosted the Unified Elementary Sports Day on Saturday, May 2, 2009. 
Under the direction of Steve Garneau, a member of the Conard Coaching staff in football and lacrosse,
the day was well organized and extremely successful.  Assisting Coach Garneau with all of the
sports activites were members of the following teams at Conard High School: 
boys lacrosse, baseball, basketball and girls volleyball. 
Two hundred and sixty elementary students participated from nine
different elementary schools throughout Connecticut. 
The largest contingent were elementary schools Whiting Lane and Norfeldt from West Hartford.

On Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at the Sixth Annual Michaels Jewelers’ Unified Sports Awards Banquet
 two Conard High School students, Lauren Bauer and Michelle Guidotti,
were honored as Exemplary Partners in Unified Sports.  
Michelle and Lauren are involved in Unified Sports Program at Conard High School
and were nominated by Tom Verrengia, Head Coach of the Unified Sports Program. 
Conard High School is extremely proud to have both student athletes as very deserving recipients of this award.
