STUDENT BULLETIN

 

Need to finish your community service hours? The town is looking for students who would be interested in helping to clean up after “Cruisin’ the Center” next Wednesday, May 21st (Rain date is May 28th) It’s held on LaSalle Road from 5:00 till about 7:30 or 8:00 p.m. They also need some help with set-up at 3:00pm.  Any interested students should signup on the list outside Mrs. Grigoraitis's office ASAP.  Students who sign up will be contacted by Linda Hanson with the details prior to next Wednesday.

 

Juniors: Any junior interested in applying for the senior class board can pick up applications outside room 162. Applications are due May 16th – No exceptions! If you have questions, please see Mrs. Niland or Mr. Islaub.

 

Seniors: If you still have a senior survey which was given to you, please complete it and return to Mrs. Glazer in the guidance Office as soon as possible. We need to know where to send your final grades and update your file. The colleges need to have these final grades to complete your application file. If you need any help with the form, please stop by and see me. Thanks for your cooperation.

 

ATTENTION PROM GOERS:  Conard's student council will be selling raffle tickets for 2 free tuxedo rentals from Mr. Tuxedo and Squire Tux, 4 free manicures at various local businesses and one gift certificate for a hair appointment at Nelson's in West Hartford Center all this week.  Raffle tickets are only $2 each or 3 tickets for $5.  You may purchase tickets and place them in any specific raffle you would like - there will 7 separate raffles for the 7 different items.  These prizes could be used for either this year's Junior or Senior Prom.  Tickets will be sold from 7:15 to 7:30 in Room 113 and from 2:15-2:30 in Room 113 (Mr. Mabey's room) every day this week - drawing will take place after school on Friday in Room 113 - you do not need to be present to receive your prize.

 

Attention seniors; if you are planning to bring a guest to the senior prom who is NOT a Conard High Student, you must complete a special permission form and have it approved by an administrator.  The forms are available in the Main Office and outside of Room 162.  You may not purchase a prom ticket for your guest until you have this form approved. Again,  this only applies to guests who are not currently attending Conard. Guests must be at least a freshman in high school and not over the age of 21. 

 

Senior Dates and Information to Remember

 

Senior Picnic – Friday May 30, 2008, High Meadow, Granby, CT

  • Tickets on sale May 12 – May 27 (NO Tickets will be sold after this date)
    • Tickets sold in Room 162 (before school, 1st period, 8th period, or after school)
  • Tickets are $45
  • Any person with obligations may not purchase a ticket until that is taken care of
  • Every person MUST have a permission slip (even if they are 18 – CT state law)
  • No checks accepted after May 15th

Senior Prom – Friday, June 13, 2008 at Chez Josef, Agawam, MA

  • Tickets on sale May 27 – June 9 (NO Tickets will be sold after this date)
    • Tickets sold in Room 162 (before school, 1st period, 8th period, or after school)
  • Tickets are $40
  • Tables are available on a first come, first served basis
  • Dinner choices are: Chicken François (sautéed in a lemon & wine sauce), Filet Mignon, Salmon, Fettuccini Alfredo, and a vegan pasta (egg less pasta w/ marinara sauce)
  • Any person with obligations may not purchase a ticket until that is taken care of
  • No checks accepted

 

 


 

HELPING HANDS NEEDED:

Volunteer needed - The Town of West Hartford Dept. of Social Services is looking for a student who may be interested in volunteering to help one of their clients.  The client is a young blind woman who is looking for someone to come to her home in West Hartford and read various things to her once a week.   If you are interested in learning more about this and are able to commit to helping once a week, please see Mrs. Grigoraitis for more information.

After School Homework Tutors; Both the Hillcrest Neighborhood Center and Sedgwick Middle School are looking for students to volunteer in their homework centers one day after school for about 2 hours a week. If you are interested in volunteering at Hillcrest or Sedgwick, please see posted flyers or Mrs. Grigoraitis for more information.

CONARD BELL SCHEDULES

 

  Any student, who arrives at school AFTER 7:45 am, MUST report to the Attendance Office.

 

 After School and Late Bus  Students who DO NOT have a planned activity after school (such as sports, clubs, meeting with teacher, or detention) are asked to leave the building by 2:45 each day. For those students who DO have planned activities, the late bus leaves each day at 4:00 at the FRONT of the building near the sports entrance.  (3:00 Short Wednesdays)

 

 

The Main Office Doors are locked at 4:00 each afternoon, and re-open at 7:00 each morning.
