Mrs. Eppinger, Mrs. Parsons, Mrs. Zukowski, Mrs. McBrien
We have four teachers located in the Literacy Center. Mrs.
Parsons is our Reading Specialist and splits her time working
with between working with teachers at all grade levels and
students in fourth and fifth grade. Mrs. Eppinger is our Early
Intervention Teacher and works with first graders on early
reading strategies. Mrs. McBrien works with both first and
second graders as our Early Intervention Tutor, while Mrs.
Zukowski, our Literacy Tutor, reads with students in second
through fifth grade.
We
are here to support your children and help them develop the
strategies they will need to be life-long readers and learners.
Our instruction revolves around the five pillars of reading:
phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and
comprehension. We encourage students to read nightly at home
and help them select just right books for reading in school.
