Writing a Works Cited or Bibliography
Using the proper form for a Works Cited is very important when you complete a research project. It allows the reader to do more reading if they'd like, and also tells them where you got your information. The following page shows examples of how specific types of information should be formatted for a works cited. All the resources should be listed in alphabetical order by first word.
Works Cited BOOK Last Name, First Name. Title of book. Place of Publication: Publisher, Date of Publication. (example) Jones, Alice. All about the Netherlands. New York: Harper & Row, 1999.
MAGAZINE Last Name, First Name. “Title of article.” Name of Magazine. Date Published. (example) Smith, John. “Children of the American Revolution.” Cobblestone. January 2006.
