A strong community spirit
and student diversity is a highlight of Charter Oak Academy. The entire
staff is committed and dedicated to its students and they work
diligently and tirelessly to deliver the best possible program for every
child.
Children are
clustered in family groupings and many opportunities for
children to learn in multi-aged settings are provided.
The delightful
differences and spectacular similarities in our student population
is celebrated and each students' unique needs are addressed.
Before and after
school programs extend the school day for many students.
Homework Center, Chess Club and a wide variety of mini-courses
are offered throughout the school year.
A Family Resource
Center works closely with the school staff to sponsor family
activities and facilitate home/school communication from birth
to school age and beyond. They are an essential part of our
school life.
A Community
Resource Council coordinates the volunteer efforts for the
entire school and representatives from the P.T.A., Family
Resource Center and school staff form the membership of this
group.
A School
Improvement Council helps to provide a positive direction for
all school activities and includes twenty-five teachers, parents
and community members.
