The Charter Oak School Community

A strong community spirit and student diversity is a highlight of Charter Oak Academy. The entire staff is committed and dedicated to its students and they work diligently and tirelessly to deliver the best possible program for every child.

  • Children are clustered in family groupings and many opportunities for children to learn in multi-aged settings are provided.

  • The delightful differences and spectacular similarities in our student population is celebrated and each students' unique needs are addressed.

  • Before and after school programs extend the school day for many students. Homework Center, Chess Club and a wide variety of mini-courses are offered throughout the school year.

  • A Family Resource Center works closely with the school staff to sponsor family activities and facilitate home/school communication from birth to school age and beyond. They are an essential part of our school life.

  • A Community Resource Council coordinates the volunteer efforts for the entire school and representatives from the P.T.A., Family Resource Center and school staff form the membership of this group.

  • A School Improvement Council helps to provide a positive direction for all school activities and includes twenty-five teachers, parents and community members.
