that will do a variety of tasks; (2) Build a robot-like monster and create a

Student Council
Student Council is made up of any interested 6th, 7th and 8th
graders. We meet twice a month on Thursday afternoon. Each year students choose
a few programs they would like to do at the school. This year the focus is on
hurricane victims, food pantries, and a book drive. These students commit to
community service and school spirit.
Tip of the Pen
The Tip of the Pen staff is always looking for talented editors
and artists!
Tip of the Pen is the school's literary magazine that comes out
twice a year; in December and in May. Teachers submit poetry, prose and artwork
from students to be published in the magazine. Students on the staff then edit
each written piece for spelling, grammar, and typographical errors and make
corrections as needed. In addition, the students make decisions regarding the
format of the magazine; for example they decide the order in which writing
pieces will appear, font type/size, graphics, etc. Talented artists are
encouraged to join the staff as well to design for the magazine. These students
draw pictures and add decorative elements to accompany writing pieces throughout
the magazine.
Announcements are made over the PA to inform students when meetings will take
place. Meetings generally take place at the end of October/beginning of November
for the first edition, and end of March/ beginning of April for the second
edition. Meetings are usually on Mondays and/or Thursdays from 3:00-4:00 in room
18 with Mrs. Kulvinskas. All meetings are announced over the PA, and students
are welcome to join at any time.
