Every morning an old man walked down the beach picking up starfish that had washed up in the night.
Slowly, carefully, one by one, he threw them back into the ocean beyond the breakers.
One day a young man walked up to him and asked, "Old man, why do you throw these starfish back,
day after day? There are thousands of them and you'll never make a difference." The old
man picked up a starfish, threw it back into the ocean and said, "It makes a difference to this one."
