The Bugbee Library Media Center was renovated and re-opened on May 12, 2004.  We have over 14,000 volumes, 200 educational videos, magazines available for in-school use, a mobile laptop lab and a computer lab that has 24 desktop computers, allowing us to accommodate whole classes for instruction.  We also have a mobile smartboard, digital cameras, scanners, vhs and digital video cameras available for student use. 

The library has a fixed schedule - all classes come to the library one time per week for 1 hour.  During that hour, the students hear stories, choose books, work on a computer lesson and often take time to find a cozy place to read.  Classroom teachers are present for 30 minutes of the library time to co-teach the computer lesson, which relates to what is being taught in the classroom.

We also have a wonderful group of parent volunteers, without  which, our library would not survive!

 Students in grades 1-3 may check out two books at a time and keep    
them for a period of two weeks.  Students in grades 4 and 5 may borrow three books for two weeks.  We are able to reserve books as well as renew them, thanks to our computerized circulation and catalog system! 

Kindergarten students begin the year by taking out one book at a time - in order to get a new book, they need to have returned the last book they took out.  After the Winter break, they are allowed to have two books out at a time.
