Speech and Language

Speech and language therapists provide a variety of services to mandated students, preschool through grade 12.  Direct therapy, individual and group, is provided to students with disorders of speech, oral language and hearing impairments.  Speech and language therapists also serve as consultants to parents and classroom teachers.

The preschool therapists provide diagnostic service to all children who are referred, as well as therapeutic service to children in preschool special education classes and consultative service to their teachers and parents.  The remaining positions within the Speech and Language budget are allocated among the schools, K-12, on the basis of need for service.
