Welcome to the Hall High School PTO!

PTO Mission

The PTO’s mission is to operate exclusively for charitable, educational, or literary purposes by conducting supporting activities which benefit, perform the functions of, or carry out the purposes of, the William Hall High School and to promote the welfare of the students through the coordination and cooperation of students, parents, teachers, other citizens of the Town of West Hartford and the West Hartford Board of Education; and to make the School the center of student life by assisting with certain school activities.

How to Join

***2018-2019 MEMBERSHIP FORM***

- Digital: Google Membership Form

- Printable

If you would like to join the PTO, please fill out the form linked above and also please let us know how you might like to volunteer. Send the completed form along with your donation check made out to the Hall PTO to the Hall Office. All PTO members will receive a copy of the Hall Directory. Donations collected through our membership drive will be made available to support activities and programs that would not otherwise be funded. The board reviews and votes on all funding requests.
Over the past two years the PTO has:
• Contributed $5000 towards the stadium lights campaign
• Sponsored Teen Driving and Behavior Awareness Programs for parents and families
• Operated the Hall High Concession Stand for sporting events
• Contributed funds to support artists and authors in residence
• Supported many student activities, including Safe Grad and Fall Fest/Spring Fling
In addition to our programs, we also host the teacher and staff welcome back luncheon in the fall and the teacher appreciation breakfast in the spring. We also provide baked goods and snacks for a number of events throughout the year including Freshman Orientation, Curriculum Night, and Conferences.

If you are interested in volunteering or simply getting more involved with the PTO, please send us an email at hallpto@gmail.com.

As you may have heard, Governor Malloy's budget proposal has resulted in the possibility of serious shortfalls in the education budget for our town. This would have an impact on Hall's ability to maintain high-quality instruction, programs, and services for our students. The best way to advocate for our children is to make our voices heard to members of our Board of Education, Town Council, and state legislators and representatives.

You can find contact information here.

Safe Grad Committee

Each year on graduation night, Hall High School graduates are treated to a fun-filled evening of entertainment, activities, prizes, and delicious food. The Hall High cafeteria is transformed into an amazing, chaperoned, substance-free celebration for graduates from 10:00 PM to 4:00 AM

As the school year progresses, many opportunities will be available to help make this night a success for the CLASS of 2019, including opportunities for undergrad parents to learn about the event for the future!

For current volunteer opportunities or if you have any questions, please contact the Safe Grad Committee at hallsafegrad19@gmail.com or the Safe Grad Committee Co-Chairs:

Please support us in the following ways (more options coming soon!):

Thank you for your willingness to help with this event! It is a great event for the graduates and a wonderful way to wrap up their time at Hall. It could not happen without the generosity of all of you!

PTO Programs

The PTO will be hosting great programs throughout the 2016-17 school year.

Current programs and events are listed below.

Please join us as Karin Stahl shares her book

The Option: a Memoir of Suicide, Mystery and Finding our Way

Tuesday, May 9, 7pm
Hall High School, Room F155

Karin Stahl is the parent of a successful, young woman, Kristina Stahl, who was an honor student and all-star soccer player at Kingwood Oxford School in West Hartford. Kristina went on to become an all-American lacrosse player and top student at Colby College. Upon graduating from college, she returned to her alma mater to teach English. Then on September 11, 2002, after years of privately dealing with anxiety and depression, tragically, Kristina took her own life.

Please come and hear Karin share her story about her daughter in the hopes that we will learn from this painful journey.

WHPD Bridging the Gap Between Hall's LGBTQ Community

Lt. Eric Rocheleau works with the West Hartford Police Department (WHPD) Community Relations Division and oversees the School Resource Officers in town. Lt. Rocheleau was the first in the state to announce an LGBT policy instituted at the WHPD. The WHPD is sensitive to identity and LGBTQ topics, especially concerning school-aged youth. The officers understand that members of these groups are often uncomfortable with a police presence and are working to change and improve communications and understanding on both sides.

As part of Lt. Rocheleau’s continued dedication to LGBTQ youth, he shared this informative and inspirational video from the United States Attorney’s office in Connecticut with the Hall PTO. The US Attorney reached out to the WHPD due to their progressive LGBT policy which aligns closely with their own. The video was produced for the LGBT community as a public service announcement. The goal is to encourage victims to come forward emphasizing that the CT law enforcement community stands behind them.

Here is the link to the video: https://youtu.be/chhLghz1G1Y

We hope the video will inspire you to support the WHPD and the PTO in their continued endeavors toward the safety and acceptance of all students at Hall and in the West Hartford community as a whole.
