This year, the world of chidlren's literature lost a very special author, Amy Krouse Rosenthal. According to The New York Times, Amy's award-winning children's books "radiate fun the way tulips radiate spring: they are elegant and spirit-lifting." More adults became aware of Amy through her essay in the New York Times shortly before her passing titled "You May Want to Marry my Husband", a moving tribute to her husband.
Morley Kindergarten students studied 4 of Amy's books: Duck! Rabbit!, Uni the Unicorn, Friendshape, and I Wish you More. Students responded to each book through writing and drawing. Then, in tech time, we took pictures of our work and learned about cropping photos. We then used an app called Book Creator to record our voices and turn our responses into a short video. We hope you enjoy!
