"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn."--Benjamin FranklinThis quote highlights one of my strongest beliefs in education; I believe that all my students should be active participants in their learning and have the opportunity to explore issues and ideas in depth.
My name is Tracey Stewart and I have been teaching for 5 years. I taught 2 years of second grade and 3 years of third grade at Whiting Lane. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Central Connecticut State University in 2008 and have been working in West Hartford schools ever since. In 2013, I went back to school and earned my Master's Degree in Special Education from the University of Saint Joseph.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family traveling, reading, and exploring the outdoors. I have a six year old daughter named Brooklyn (we love New York) and she will, also, be going into second grade this year! Our only pet is a Guinea Pig named "Emmy".
