SAT Testing Day- April 5th- Full-Day Schedule
All juniors will be taking the SAT on Wednesday, April 5th and should report to their testing room by 7:20am. Students should bring a #2 pencil and calculator. Cell phones should be left in lockers. Testing will be completed around 11:45am and juniors will attend periods 6-8. Lunch will be rescheduled for those who have 4th/5th period lunch. All other students (grade 9, 10, 12) will follow a regular full-day schedule.
NACAC National College Fair- The CT Convention Center, Hartford

Take a big step in your college search process by attending a FREE NACAC National College Fair at the Hartford Convention Center April 6th 9-11:30am, 6:30-8:30pm or April 7th 9-11:30am. Third Quarter Grades Close April 7th
Third quarter grades will close on Friday, April 7th. Grades will be available via PowerSchool Wednesday afternoon, April 19th. Report cards will be issued through homerooms later that week.
Summer school registration information can be found on the West Hartford Continuing and Summer Education website (https://www.whlifelearn.org/) or in the back of the Program of Studies. The West Hartford Inter-district Summer High School offers over forty courses for "get ahead" credit, skills development, credit recovery and for enrichment experiences. Dates for the 2017 Summer High School are as follows: Semester 1 - June 26 to July 14; Semester 2 - July 17 to August 3. The location will be at Conard High School. Limited financial aid is available for qualified students and will only be granted for recovery credit courses. Please see the school counseling secretary, MaryAnn Hall for more information.
Junior Workshops are beginning to wrap-up. Juniors should have completed all assignments including Reach/Target and Safety Schools handout, Post High School Options handout with parents and the following online assignments: list of colleges, updated resume and brag sheet in Naviance, as well as a completed Common Application. Students should see their Junior Workshop teacher or school counselor if they have any questions.
April vacation is an ideal time for college visits with your student. Don’t wait until the summer to begin looking at schools. School admissions’ websites will have more information about scheduled tours and information sessions.

Post-High School Options Fair- April 19th
The Post-High School Options Fair will run periods 4-7 on April 19th. Community colleges, technical schools, Job Corps, cosmetology schools, gap year programs and military branches will be available for students to explore during their lunch period. Students should see Ms. Barry in the College/Career Center for more information.
Graduation and Final Exam Dates
Graduation will take place on Thursday, June 15th.

Seniors: June 9, 12, 13, 14
Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors: June 13, 14, 15, 16
Seniors should notify their counselor regarding the college decisions they are receiving. This information allows us to keep accurate information and data in our Naviance program. Counselors need to be aware of the college your student will be attending so we can send the required final transcript. Also, if your student is going to be involved in the US Military after graduation, please have your student alert his/her school counselor.
