Transition Events/Timeline

8th GRADE to 9th GRADE TRANSITION EVENTS/TIMELINE

 

JANUARY

  • High School Transition Assembly 

    • High school counselors come to Sedgwick to discuss the transition to high school and answer question. - January 17th during 1st period.

    • The Conard High School Program of Studies is distributed. Students will receive an Elective Course Registration Form to help manage their elective choices.

       

  • 8th Grade Open House at Conard High School for parents . - January 25 (snow date February 1) 

     

    FEBRUARY

  • Sedgwick counselors bring 8th grade students to the computer lab to register for 9th grade academic and elective classes via PowerSchool on the following dates:

        • February 6th - Team Columbia (during Ms. Blauvelt's classes)
        • February 7th - Team Yale (during Ms. Altman's classes)
        • February 9th - Team Princeton (during Ms. Tauro's classes)
  • A list of your child's course recommendations and their course selections will be accessible through PowerSchool.

             

APRIL

  • Principal’s Breakfast with Conard principal Mr.Julio Duarte - April 6 @7:30 am at Sedgwick Middle School's Multi-Purpose Room.

MAY

  • "Day In The Life" - 8th graders spend the morning visiting Conard High School.
