Hour of Code
Did you know:
Last year over 100 organizations joined forces to launch the largest learning event in history, Hour of Code. Charter Oak participated and students and teachers agreed - it was awesome! During the week of December 8th, we will join 100 million other students in lessons about understanding and enhancing our increasingly digital world through computer science lessons.
“Everybody in this country should learn how to program a computer . . . because it teaches you how to think.” —Steve Jobs
We want Charter Oak students to inquire about and become more knowledgeable about computer science careers. Mr. Diamond and Mrs. Cochrane works with each class during library/lab time on computer coding activities that are organized at www.code.org.
Follow-up activities will also be shared with teachers during professional development time. If you would like more information, check out http://hourofcode.com/us. Watch the video - it's great!
Please note that Daily Video Announcements will be on hold during the Hour of Code Week.
