Dear Duffy Families, Teachers, and Staff,
On behalf of the Duffy Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) Board, we would like to wish you a warm welcome to the 2017-2018 school year. For those new to the Duffy family, the PTO is a volunteer organization made up of parents, guardians, teachers, administrators, and support staff who are dedicated to promoting the education of all Duffy students.
The purpose of our organization is to enhance and maximize the learning environment at Duffy. We use our resources (manpower and monetary) to support the efforts of Mrs. Laverty and all of our wonderful teachers and staff. Many thanks to our tireless Volunteer Coordinators and to all who have volunteered for upcoming committees this year. If you would like to become involved, please see the attached Duffy Volunteer Form and we will make every effort to find the opportunity and time commitment that is right for you. Your participation at Duffy makes a huge difference to our students!
Every parent, guardian, and staff member is a welcomed member of the Duffy PTO. Our membership donation drive at the beginning of each year is a critical source of income that allows us to fund many important programs at Duffy. Your donation is completely voluntary and does not obligate you to any further participation in PTO activities (those are voluntary as well!). Donations are personal to each family; you decide what is right for you. We truly appreciate each donation and every bit is used to ensure a well-rounded educational experience for all Duffy students. Please see the attached donation envelope.
The PTO works to foster a welcoming school environment and to promote open communication among families, teachers, school administrators and staff, town administrators, and the West Hartford Board of Education.

Duffy PTO Membership
The Duffy PTO helps organize volunteers in the school, raise money for enriching programs for all students and keeps you informed about issues and activities through the school year. We rely on fundraising and membership dues to support our budget.
We suggest a $10.00 membership fee; however, any amount is appreciated. If you are not able to contribute your time in volunteer hours, you could consider making a larger donation.
Duffy School PTO is a 501 C3 nonprofit organization. Your contribution is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
