Hall High Class of 1951 Class Reunion
65th reunion on Thursday, 12 noon to 4 pm
September 15 at Angelo’s Restaurant (Rockledge Country Club)
289 South Main Street, West Hartford, CT
We are looking forward to hearing about everyone's experience, and welcome responses to one or more of the following questions or to another topic a classmate may wish to address:
Our reunion weekend has come and gone but the memories are everlasting. The committee has worked on this for the past 1 ½ years. Seeing the excitement and love in the room made everything worth the effort. It was wonderful seeing people connect to old friends. Some even found that classmates were living in the same vicinity. We had the largest turnout of any of our previous reunions.
Thanks to everyone who made the effort to attend this milestone celebration. A special thanks to everyone who worked on our committee. Happy 50th reunion Hall High Class of 1964!!!!!!
With love and appreciation,
Margie Cohn Browner
Thanks to all of you who have forwarded your checks for the reunion! If you have not sent your RSVP and check, please mail immediately to:
Mr. David Roth, 50 Whetten Road, West Hartford, CT 06117. If you plan to attend both Friday and Saturday evenings, please send $100.00. If you are only attending one evening, it is $50.00. If you are bringing a guest, the same fees apply - $50.00 for one event, $100.00 for two events. In the memorandum line, indicate: Hall High 50th Reunion.
The Meet and Greet Reception starts Friday evening, October 7, at 6:00 PM - Noah Webster House and ends at 8:00 PM. Light refreshments/drinks (cash bar) will be available and, hopefully, you can catch dinner in West Hartford Center after the event. We will have a list of restaurants at the Noah Webster House (50 South Main St.) Dress: Comfortable Casual.
On Saturday evening, October 8th, the Reunion Celebration will begin at 6:00 PM and end at 10:00 PM. We have a fun, mini-program planned from 7:00 PM – 7:30 PM. (Brush up on that school Alma Mater - ) The event is being catered and will include many small plates which we are augmenting with veggie/cheese platters, desserts made by several classmates and a cash bar. Dress: Nice but not super fancy.
Safe travels as you make your way to West Hartford – know of at least one class member traveling from Italy and several from the West Coast. Looking forward to seeing all of you at our 50th!

Dear Classmate: August 2017
You may be feeling that tug and pull to attend the reunion, but there is something holding you back: maybe it’s the cost of the airline ticket or perhaps it is your fear that you have aged and you don’t look like that picture in the yearbook. Still, that desire deep inside to connect to your own history and your curiosity about the people that were a part of that history is playing on your heartstrings.
For those who didn’t see this wonderful article that we posted on Facebook, entitled “Go to Your High School Reunion, Dammit!” we have paraphrased some salient points in it that may speak to you. Life is short! Though this is a trite statement, it rings more true as we age. When we walk into the reunion, we will see “vaguely familiar strangers” who look more like their middle-aged parents than the 17 year-olds in our memories, and our classmates will all be trying their damnedest to look put-together and successful and suave, like they haven’t changed a bit, but all of us in that room:
*Have had their heart broken by death or loss
*Feel older and creakier than we did in high school
*Wonder if we made all the right choices
*Wonder if our life is meaningful enough
*Want to love and be loved
*Are aware of our mortality
Sobering thoughts, yes, but these truths allow us to make compassionate connections with people from our past and to be honest about who and what we are. Most likely, we will leave the reunion feeling refreshed, more enlightened, with a sharper perspective of our lives and what we’ve gained from others. So take the dive and forget about the bulging middle or the balding head or your health problems. We all are in the game of life together.
This is our last plea for you to attend our 50th reunion. Come mingle and feel a part of something larger than our individual selves. Giggle and relive youthful memories and feel your heart swell as you make connections and share life experiences. Don’t miss out on this opportunity. Please register before September 1st. Go to the reunion, Dammit!
If you need reminders about any of the particulars, just contact either of us. We want to see you there! Please let us know your email address and cell phone too so we can update the class contact list. And we want everyone to participate in the digital yearbook, whether you come to the reunion or not.
