Mr. Chris Kueffner, Quest
After teaching at Bristow for 7 years, the opportunity to return to QUEST at the elementary level came up and I now teach at Webster Hill and Whiting Lane schools. Because I have so many interests and love helping students pursue theirs, I particularly enjoy being a QUEST teacher.
My wife and I live in Storrs where we raised a son and a daughter, both now out of college and in their twenties. When I'm not at school, my favorite place to be is outdoors--in the woods (even climbing in the trees, if there's time), farming (I have created a number of educational corn mazes over the years), and raising animals. We typically have a small flock of egg-laying chickens and my wife and I grow all our own meat, including pork, chicken, lamb, and beef, but no fish! When I can, I also like to spend time bicycling, walking, working with wood, reading, and writing.
Mrs. Cathy Martin Early Intervention
My name is Cathy Martin and I have been teaching for over eighteen years in West Hartford. During those years, I have had the greatest pleasure teaching in three different schools; fifth grade, first grade, and presently Early Intervention Reading teacher here at Webster Hill. Since I struggled with reading in elementary school myself, I feel I easily relate to students who find elements of reading difficult. Every day I realize how truly lucky I am to have MY dream job! I graduated from CCSU with a masters in Remedial Reading and Language Arts.
I enjoy all outdoor activities, such as camping and traveling throughout the United States with my husband, our two boys and two puppies.
Mrs. Amy Snyder Reading Specialist
Hi, I am Amy Snyder and I am the Reading Specialist at Webster Hill. This is my 14th year teaching since obtaining my Bachelor's Degree from SUNY Cortland. I have my Master's Degree in Literacy from Alfred University and I spent my first few years teaching Kindergarten and First Grade in Upstate New York. Then I moved to Buffalo, New York and became certified as a Reading Recovery Teacher. In 2008 my husband and I moved to East Granby, Connecticut with our Siberian Husky, Dacker.
I love being outdoors enjoying nature! I run, kayak, bike, swim, ski, and the list goes on! I absolutely love sports and being active. You will rarely find me inside, unless I'm reading or baking.
Ms. Marissa Clement School Social Worker
Ms. Clement is thrilled to be joining the Webster Hill family as a part time school social worker. She will also be working part time at Braeburn Elementary school. Ms. Clement received her BA in Theater at Keene State College and trained in Chicago at many theater companies, including the Second City Conservatory and Steppenwolf. Ms. Clement then decided to return to the northeast to pursue a masters degree in Social Work from UCONN. After graduating, she worked in the high schools and middle schools here in West Hartford as a counselor with HopeWorks inc. Ms. Clement is looking forward to working with younger children once again, having led friendship building groups at Wolcott, and conflict resolution/positive communication through theater groups in two Hartford elementary schools with the Youth Arts Institute in the past.
In her spare time, Ms. Clement loves watching hockey, participating in local community theater, and taking care of her new kitten, Rosie!
